Why OP?
Are you keeping up with the latest?

I was never in the fandom and my pairings dont lend themselves to those head canons, but I'm curious about your experience/what you missed out on!

I don't know how far you've watched,but there is definitely one or two people we never should have lost. I can't fucking stand Eren lol

Honestly? I took a step back from the series when I got to the part of the manga where a guy was getting tortured via the butt and thought "Maybe I'll just take a little break" - and by the time I thought about coming back to pick up where I left off - the majority of people on places like tumblr were going feral about how SnK was actually about nazis or something, and I didn't really want to step into the line of fandom drama fire.
In addition, back when I just thought about looking up AU fics - I got lost with new characters being introduced and people re-replicating what was going on with the stoyline - so I just went into another fandom instead.

Honestly, I was still checking in every so often but completely noped out when I saw the very blatant and badly used Holocaust imagery. Also there's a lot of very good commentary on how maybe don't use such specific imagery for a group of people that [insert a lot of other things that also are in conspiracy theories about jews here]

oooh ok I did not know that was the case. People were just yelling about how it was bad but not why (which tbh can mean anything or nothing on places like tumblr), and it put me off of reading the manga to find out. Either way, yikes.
