I had no choice in the matter. If you think I did.. well. lets say you have never been a teenager who has been taken into "care".

So you think it is that easy, to re-wire your brain?

I know what I want. Hell, I even know WHO I want - and because of all the years I believed from everything that true love will always triumph even if they hate you, especially if they hate you - I can't let go.

So how exaktly do you propose i get rational about it?

Well, you can decide that because you had a terrible upbringing and are involved in fandom and had bad things happen to you that you have to rewire your brain in order to have a good relationship -- an heroic task where failure is okay.

Or you can work at it. Every day. Every situation. Little by little. Study the problem. Read a book. Look at how other people in positions similar to yours managed to better themselves. Inspire yourself to a have a better future.

How about instead of aiming for true love (whatever that is -- I've been happily married for 18 years to a man who I love intensely, but it's not fireworks and swoons, it's more like a really good day at the beach), instead of some mythical ideal, you aim for someone who is good for you, and who makes you happy. Instead of aiming yourself at someone who hates you (and there for is totally unattainable), aim yourself at one of the bajillion people out there who don't hate you. Every new person is a chance to make a fresh impression.
