108 - missing the point of that line much?

Well, since you're so very smart, care to enlighten me? What IS the point of that line?

I may just be some unintelligible, dribbling idiot with drool on my shirt... but to me that line was a statement to show how unaware most of us are as to where our things come from. Donna, being a common woman, displays ignorance to the fact that yes, sweat shops are much like slave work, and when she is accused of having slaves (which, I might point out, she does not physically own one and in her temperament she jumps to quick conclusions that deal with her in the "then and now") she was repulsed by the idea and became offended.

When the doctor points it out, however, that she might want to think about where her clothes came from, it is a revelation to her character and she then strives to help the Ood.

but you may also wish to remember that when she first found out that the Ood were slaves she was adamant about how wrong it was and wanted very much to help them. The episode is a "morality" episode that wants us to think more about our own society.

Exactly the way it was, WITHOUT the Doctor apologising for pointing something out he had every right to point out.

Wait, since when was this about the doc's statement? O_o I thought this was "I HATE DONNA BECAUSE..." secret.

I don't know why I feel so defensive over Donna... maybe because I heavily identify with her? Maybe because her compassion moves me? Maybe because she's so realistic? But all I felt was compassion for her in that episode and seeing someone hating her for that just irritates me.

hey, no need to justify anything, i totally get it. donna is the only fictional character that i've felt this strongly about. and for all those reasons as well. moreso the realistic factor... i don't even want to start on how much i adore donna, this comment would get much too long! but i totally agree with you. <3
