Oof I felt that going back to Secret of Mana (back then it was AWE-INDUCING to me but now it's more like "why did I ever think this was pretty?")

I am so due for a replay of that game, and just bought the collection on Switch, but... yeah, I fear that. XD

It's worst for me with FF4. I was like "aaaahh there is an entire ORCHESTRA in this game!" when the Red Wings theme kicked up in the intro, and the backgrounds in the watery cavern on the way to Damcyan blew my mind. I still love the plot and the characters and the gameplay, so I replay it every couple years anyway, but I don't stare in amazement so much...

I mean... it was pretty for 1993 standards. But yeah, compared to stuff now...

I still like the music a lot though.
