(Anonymous) 2009-02-01 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)Regardless, having been bisexual my whole life I'm finding I have to agree with you, to an extent. I know that the majority of the population (or whatever, the statistics are a bit vague) is only attracted to one gender, but having never experienced, er, gender-exclusive attraction I can't really get my head around quite why, at least in the vast majority of cases. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, just that I don't understand it.
I think it's especially jarring in fandoms with couples where one person can and does change between the two genders and their other half refuses to be with them (as in kissing) when they're in one of the genders, despite being in love with/engaged to them. I mean, they're the same person with the same personality, they just look different. Sure, that's probably true to real life, but I just don't get it.
Nervous anon has said 'gender' too many times in this post XD

(Anonymous) 2009-02-02 01:11 am (UTC)(link)I haven't even thought about Ranma 1/2 in months, but now I want fic where whoever Ranma's with (preferably Akane, but whatever) deals with this and comes out accepting/being attracted to both sides.
