I'm sure if they removed all references to violence, blood, bad language, curses, bugs and the fact that the doctor is a giant pedo for Satoko they may end up with just enough footage to make something like Chi's Sweet Home. Episodes of that were only 3 minutes long.

*laughs* It would make no sense whatsoever but might be good for a laugh.

When has anything that 4kids has gotten their hands on made any sense? ): I'm just glad my favourite anime isn't suitable for children, so the chances of them picking any of them up is very low!

Well to be fair Pokemon wsn't too bad and from what I hear apart from the name changes they didn't do too badly with Sharman King. Usually though they are full of fail, luckily most of my fav's are pretty safe from them as well thankfully.

I've never watched pokemon or shaman king, so I can't comment on how bad or good they were but I don't have much faith :|

I'm sure a lot of the shows I enjoy have been dubbed but I've only ever liked two dubs haha subs for life :/

See I don't mind dubs but 4kids hack the shows up as well and refuse to release uncut versions of the shows unlike say Viz who might cut stuff for the TV versions of their shows but release them uncut on dvd. Thats a lot better way of doing it because at least then people buying the showcan choose what format to watch it in dub or sub.

I don't like dubs simply because I don't like how the voices sound, or the accents that get used, or that it seems like the same actors get used again and again with little variety. I don't really like the translations either, especially if they try to localize it too much.

the only reasons I don't buy the dvds is because they're not exactly easy to get a hold of and the prices are extortionate. when you see how few episodes you get per release, it just isn't worth it financially compared to other boxsets which are a good investment for shows you really enjoy.

a lot of companies will edit/tone down the show for television, but not for the dvd and a few extra panty shots or whatever isn't going to make me buy them either.

For me it depends what language I hear the show in first. If I hear the dub first I can only watch the dub and if I see the sub first the same otherwise it just doesn't sound right at all. Perhaps because for me voice is as much a part of who the character is ashow they behave if that makes sense.

I don't really buy many dvds either as a lot less get released over here in the UK so it's a lot harder to find them. I tend to wait for boxsets and buy them if they are available.
