So, I'm kinda in the same situation. I started reading McCoy/Chekov fic again about 2.5 years after Yelchin died, and at first I had a full blown crisis about it, but with time I was able to fully separate the actor from the character in my mind. I guess it's different if the real person is who you are lusting for, but I still don't think you should feel bad about it. Photographs preserve beauty for all eternity (that naked WW2 soldier with the tanline? Mmmmm) and you shouldn't feel bad for enjoying that beauty. Just don't go to that person's grave and act weird.
