This is all true, but I would steal read a fic where Merlin was a Kansas farmboy and Arthur was the bald son of an evil mastermind. NINE TIMES.

(Although a fic where Merlin was a Yorkshire farmboy and Arthur was the bald son of an evil mastermind who had to wear knitted caps to stop his head freezing would be more geographically correct and possibly more hilarious.)
