(Anonymous) 2009-02-01 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)I say the same thing about Christians, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Hare Krishna's, Baha'i, (religious) Jews, and [insert religious group here]. I think all religions are equally absurd, and I lose respect for anyone who can believe that strongly in anything without quantifiable evidence. (Note: I don't HATE people who adhere to religious teachings, I just think they're very, very silly.) I find the notion that we're the reincarnations of aliens no more or less preposterous than the notions that the Earth is only a few thousand years old, that homosexuality is a sin against nature punishable by death, that mummifying a dead body ensures the continuation of the soul, or that somebody will go to 'hell' because a vindictive deity thought their choice of religion was incorrect.
