You're definitely not alone on this, OP! Most people (okay...ALL the people) I know who've read both the Grisha trilogy and SoC vastly prefer SoC. It's just the superior series - better characters, writing, plot, etc.

Wish we had gotten a SoC only show, but I'll take the scraps I can get. Even if I have to sleep through the Grisha pieces.
