I think the title is dumb because a) it doesn't really have much to do with the novel and b) because misconception like this happen but idk, you could try one of the thousands of YA/childrens' books/movies/shows with animal friendships instead? It's not exactly like it's rare.

It's not true that the title doesn't really have much to do with the novel and considering that this book is all about misdirection, the title is actually very appropriate.
