Do you have any idea what model/make/year/whatever his Camaro is? I'm about to get a new car, and unless its some super expensive classic, I'd like to get that one.

Don't mean to shit on any parades (I've just been stalking threads for this fic). Classic cars tend to be pretty expensive unless you're a mechanic. No matter the make/model, it's going to be a rip to buy it (or really cheap and cost your soul to fix it up), and gas mileage will be a bitch.

... Er... I've been talking to muscle car shops for 3 months for my job. XD

Well damn...

I've got about 25k in savings but there's no way in hell that I'm spending it all. I suppose I could buy a really cheap model and have my cousin help me fix it up.

Or I could just spend all my money on the lottery and pray I get a winning ticket :(

Yeah. Without including how much the car would cost you to buy it, fixing it up can be anywhere between 15k - 250k+ (and the 15k is low estimates from shops in bum-fuck nowhere midwest for the most part). It mainly depends on the car, how much fixing there has to be done, and how rare the parts are. Also, with the length of time it takes to get parts (rarer parts = longer), you can be fixing up your classic from 6 months to 2 years.

Also depends on if you want all the original parts, or if you're okay with making a modern hybrid (which is cheaper and faster, but still a pretty penny or two).

Don't give up on the dream. I'm still hoping!! Haha, I want the money and time to go to mechanics trade school and then slowly do the whole thing myself. XD *nerd*

Well my....

25k is what I've got in five years. I'm a lucky bitch with no dependents and I've trained myself to live cheap, so maybe in ten years or so I can catch the dream.

Don't you give up either! Your dream sounds pretty awesome, I wish I had any mechanical skill at all.
