105: I feel like I should know where this is from but I don’t and that makes me sad. 

111: Good luck. I hope your family will understand one day.

132: I’ve never seen I am sam but I’m going to check it out after hearing so many people say how good it is.

136: I think this too but then I realize it would probably make a lot more sense if I actually knew the fandom and think “If I don’t know the fandom, why am I reading this secret?”

138: Yeah, I know the feeling.

144: Ah crap, I think I just did that on a secret I just put in.

156: I always get so embarrassed when I have to try to explain fanfiction or slash to real people who have no idea what it is. The conversation goes like this: “Oh, and I like to write” “Really? What do you write?” *brief unsure silence as I try to decide what to say* “Well, I write this thing called fanfiction. It’s um, when you take a show or book or movie and write stories about the characters.” At which point if they know about fanfiction we totally bond and if they don’t, I get an odd look. It’s doubly awkward when they’re old enough to be my grandparent and this conversation is taking place in the hall after church (which has happened to me.)

157: I miss Siskel and Ebert.

158: I get that. You know if no one in your fandom is interested, you could try posting this essay to a feminist community. I like to read those sorts of things, even if I don’t know the series.

163: This breaks my heart. My prayers are with your family. I hope you don’t mind.

166: I agree.

169: That bothers me too. It’s almost like having female characters are anti-slash.

170: Yeah, fandom can do that. It sucks.
