Oh. I was sat here wondering what the subjunctive was and that I was going to have to look it up once I had finished reading FS.

I do this. I guess I don't have anything to worry about grammatically |D I didn't realise that it was called the subjunctive, just that I got irrationally irritated when people used 'was'. It sounds wrong (or rather, that was my basis).

Grammar by osmosis really does work! I do a lot of things by what sounds right/wrong, and it usually winds up working out for me. If you read enough correct stuff, it'll just click, I guess.

(Which is partly what's so damaging about the incorrect stuff... Read enough and you'll get convinced it's right...)
