I mean Tony won't survive without his magic element, so he's about as reliant on his own tech.

Is that still true though? Honest question. I thought he had the shrapnel and arc reactor removed from his chest as of the end of IM3. Now later on, at least by Infinity War, he apparently had some version of it put back in, but it seemed like that was more about the nanotech suit.
