Exactly. Meanwhile, Fjerdan assassin groups are infiltrating Ravka for the primary purpose of killing Grisha, but nobody's discriminating against blond haired blue-eyed people. Funny how that works, eh?

Worse than that - the combat instructor for the Second Army is Shu (which is book canon reflected in the casting of the character), but they cut him down to one brief scene and removed the rapport Alina has with him, which a weird choice when they decided to add a racial element to Alina's outsider status.

I was disappointed that cut that part back to nothing. It was an important aspect of Alina's training and development as a character, and if they were going to make a big thing of her racial background, it makes sense to provide some context for that.
