They managed to make him boring! He's bland (and to be honest, if you can describe a character as a "cinnamon roll," I tend to loathe them).

I absolutely have loved some comics Bucky (post-Winter Soldier, I mean, not the ancient stuff where he was an annoying teen sidekick) but there's just nothing there in the MCU.

Which, to be honest, is true about most MCU characters. I get why things have to be simplified (you don't have decades of history to build on) and largely sanitized (thanks, Disney) but it does tend to make them boring compared to their comics counterparts, IMO.
