I always thought Mary Sues weren't willing to be... ya know, stronger than guys. Like they'd always be like "SAVE ME PLZ ILU MALE LEAD"

So because EVE actually has flaws, let alone isn't all "BLUSHY KAWAII ^___^___________^ SPARKLE PRINCESS HEEHEE" she's a Mary Sue?

WHAT THE HELL PLZ.

For me the defining characteristic of a Mary Sue is that she distorts the story around herself--becomes the focus of attention. This can be done by being an OMGhelplessmaiden!!1! or by being a "warrior 'Sue" where she kicks everyone's ass until the hero falls in love with her or agrees she's teh awesome. So yeah, there can be Mary Sues that aren't all Sparkle Princess.

Not having seen the film in question, I have no idea if the character in the secret IS a Mary Sue/canon 'Sue, mind you.

Ah yeah, I can agree with that too, though. But I think looking too deep into a Disney movie for a Mary Sue stereotype is kinda ridiculous nonetheless.

Looking too deep into anything for a Mary Sue stereotype is ridiculous, since non-obviously/secretly Sues aren't really Sues in the first place. It's like claiming every character is "Mary Sue, until proven innocent"...
