Bizarrely powerful, bitchy, main crux to the plot, and the main character is instantly OMG IN LOVE? There's no way that could POSSIBLY be a sue! /sarcasm

Not saying there's no way a character fitting the description you gave could be a sue (they could). Just saying it's not the case this time.

For what reason? Standards is standards, man. That's the bill for a sue, and EVE fits it to a T.

For being a well-written, interesting character. And sorry, there's no offical "sue standard". The litmus tests and such just list common sue traits because the odds of characters with those traits turning up mary sues in the hands of a bad writer are high.

But she isn't well written OR interesting. She shows up, is a total bitch to WALL-E until he's about to die, then suddenly she cares, when before she was just annoyed at him for getting in the way. Sues can turn up for good writers or bad, published or un. The fact that she's a robot or in a Disney movie doesn't change the way the standards apply.

I don't get the hype over WALL-E as it is, the movie was pretty boring. It wasn't even that visually outstanding, once they left earth. But regardless of how I feel about it, EVE is a sue. If you don't want to own up to it, that's your own biz.

I don't have issues with words that aren't spelled phonetically, I have issues with words that are spelled stupidly.
