Gotta love it when it's referred to as "reverse rape," too.

Its like trying to explain to a cardboard box fulla holes most times, they just don't get it! They think its 'OMG impossible!' that they could be raped by a GASP woman.

That drives me crazy, rape is rape, it can happen to anyone and be committed by ANYONE. It's not just women being victimized by men or men being victimized by men!

155. Anyone who doubts men can be raped by women needs to read Cyteen by CJ Cherryh. That was one fucked up set of interpersonal relationships, and the young man who was raped in chapter 2 spends the rest of his life unable to feel okay being touched by anyone except his best friend. :(

(Okay, so, it's fiction. Still.)

But that'd require them to GASP actually read. And most of the guys I know are whiny little nits about having to actually crack open a book and read. My nagging probably wouldn't help them or any of my other friends to actually see different then they already do.

But I'll read the book for sure, I'll try to pick it up sometimes this weekend, thanks for telling me about it!

I recommended the book to a male friend of mine who reads a lot, and tried to warn him: "This kid a few years younger than you gets raped in the book, FYI, just so you know going into it," and got the "Women can't rape men, honey" response. I don't know if he ever did read it or not, or what he thought.

It's a good long book, science fiction, and all about what makes you human--IDK if that will make you more or less likely to enjoy it, but it's really good. Confusing and intricate and sometimes depressing but fucking good. (As is practically anything else by that author, very fucking good. :D)
