149. I tend to get into fandoms by reading fic/checking out the fandom before the source material--if you don't care about spoilers, maybe that would work.
152. Oh noes some fans are attracted to old people! Stop whining and scroll past it, like people do when other fans go on and on about teenage boys.
157. Yeah, a huge proportion of fanfic involves sex and romance--there is gen if you seek it out, though, more for some fandoms than others. But if all you're reading is cliche writing and boring plots, then your flist doesn't have very good writers. There is lots of damn good and well-written fic out there.

Actually, haven't seen that yet. Most of the comments seem to be, "It's not misogyny, it's a SATIRE of misogyny!"

Um, guys? Any satire that's indistinguishable from the thing it's riffing on is a failed satire.

I'm talking about media in general (and actually, I haven't seen the show yet, but I do know there's no teenagers). There's plenty of shows with no nasty old old people having sex.

Seriously, if Adama/Roslin doesn't float your boat, just deal with it without going "EW, ICKY." Have fun growing up!
