This is my exact complaint lmao. I don't get why people would not like the fact that they have to choose their sims' sexuality...directing their lives is the whole point of the game

I don't know how things work nowadays (stopped playing on 2) but I remember back then people would argue about Sims canon. In the first game there were two girls and some people would actually debate about them being lesbian coded or not lmao

How do the "canon sexuality" people deal with everyone being default straight unless the player introduces gayness?

There is so very little actual 'canon' in Sims, that it's ridiculous to even try to keep to the flimsy storylines they use as backstory to sell the games. ( Don Lothario is one, the Goths are another, and Bella Goth is the other, that I can think of that have any backstory that would be considered canon, but even then, they're not tied to that backstory, especially in later games.)

Make your own canon.
