I think aquiring cat or dog meat is in itself somewhat dubious due to the fact that even in those countries that do consume them as meat, there are stories of sellers who steal pets from families to sell as meat.

Not all sellers would/do and I'm sure there are places that specifically farm them but enough so that there's a fair bit of outcry against them even in those communities.
