The specific post I referenced was on a the sub for Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Someone was looking for Bucky X Leah fan art and the only reply thread I saw was basically "Gross you must fetishize asian women and be anti-black women." Which is really unhelpful feedback to someone looking for fan art!

(It's why I used AxD and AxC because clearly the AxB pairing for that show is SamBucky.)

I'm sorry you had that experience. I've found that FATWS fandom in general is ... very unpleasant about pairings that compete with Bucky/Sam and Bucky/Sarah, among a lot of other things.

It wasn't my post, and I like both pairings. I like every pairing in FatWS. I'm just fandom grandma shocked that people are so rude to each other, and it made me realize I see it all the time now.

The MCU has the problem that all of 'babies first fandom's have. It's huge and has great stuff but it attracts all sorts and people get emotionally invested.

I'm having a blast on tumblr/ao3/reddit but goddamn the breakdown in etiquette is upsetting. Or maybe there never was etiquette I could just do a better job curating my own experience on LJ and even tumblr.

They are, but also they're hyper-critical about those pairings too! It's like Finn from Star Wars all over again, where the end result is that only people who are extremely oblivious ever write the character because otherwise they'll be attacked.
