The most expensive plant I've ever bought--a cordia verbenacea in a 5 gallon pot, because it was the only one the specialty nursery had, I can't find it anyplace else, and the only online source is waitlisted for at least a year.

It's funny, it must grow like a weed somewhere because it's on import ban lists for invasives, but I'm gonna learn to propagate it so I can give plants away. It's supposed to taste like chicken bouillon cubes and it definitely smells like it; I'll have to make soup with it sometime.

I also bought a patchouli and a "cardamom," but it's actually one of those gingers sold as cardamom and not the real deal, because 90% of US nurseries get it wrong, and I bet the 10% that don't are in Hawaii and south Florida, where true cardamom will grow outdoors. Smells nice, though.
