I think the first time I saw social justice colliding with fandom was around 2010, in the fanficrants LJ community, where calling someone a twat would get you dogpiled because it's apparently misogynistic.

It's also the first time I saw people using the phrase "intent isn't magical", which...is not totally untrue, but looking back it feels like people were using it to mean "intent doesn't matter at all", which is very much not true.
