101. Good! That's how real fangirls do it! I get irrationally annoyed at fairweather fans, tbqh. Go hard or go home.
107. Yeah, I kinda know what you mean. For every good one there's about 20 bad ones, but if you look, there's good stuff out there. :)
115. Eh, don't worry about it. Doesn't mean you're homophobic, as you said. Choosing OTPs is a big deal! ;)
119. Agreed. :P That's annoying.
129. God, RDJ was so hot in that movie. He is extremely shippable in many things; you're right. (But the end made me cry; it was too close to home with him, y'know.) :\
139. Yeah, I actually didn't have a problem with that either, and then I peeked around online and discovered that pretty much EVERYONE else did. O_____o
148. It was Disturbia that made me accept the hotness. I thought that frickin' Even Stevens show would stay in my head forever, but...yeah. HOT.
156. Noooo! TomStu/R-Pattz 4 life!!!1 :D
159. OMG, I know. I was spoiled for the proposal on The Office because they were like "something happens in the rain...something big, with a couple! ...But we're not saying what." SMOOTH.
161. Oh, for real! (Cousin. Totally his cousin. In conclusion: cousin.) If a freaking RIVER has to ask you to chill out and stop shanking bitches in your grief...yeah, that's bad.
170. I like slash, but I feel like there are a LOT of forced pairings, more so than in het fic. They have to have chemistry. I mean, Harry and Ron are best friends and that's adorable, but there's no sparks between them. You can't just write any two names down and have it work. :P

LOL irony.

Thing is, where you see no chemistry, someone else may see chemistry. Take the folks in my icon, for instance. Lucas is the only character I have ever really been able to ship with House. I just don't see House/Wilson, yet most of the fandom loves it.

Well, true. To me, actually, the mark of a really great fanfic is if you can sell me on a pairing that I'm not otherwise into. Like, convince me to ship it, ya know? I've found some great fics that've done that. :) (And while I adore House/Wilson, I love Lucas too and I hope he comes back. EEEE SEXY JAM SESSIONS FTW!)

Haha, I've read some brilliant fics that got me to believe some pairings I would never have considered before. Found one of my favourite authors (and a good fandom friend) that way.

(I'm all about the Wilson/Cuddy :D)

OT3s are my life. House/Wilson/Cuddy all the way. :D

Re: 170

As much as I've been getting into OT3s lately, I can't ship any variation of House/Wilson, so House/Wilson/Cuddy doesn't work for me, either, lol. I have a hard time shipping House with anyone (I wanted to ship him with that woman who was in Antarctica...also the Doctor in the Wheelchair when he lost his spot...but they were both only in one episode each so, that doesn't work to well) That's why it was so awesome for me when Lucas popped up. And he does need to come back.

Wanna bet? Just a matter of knowing how to handle your material.
Just like anything you write, you have to make it believable within the context of the story.

Whether or not a pairing appeals to you beforehand, is of course another matter.

...I lol'd.

Also would just like to inform you that I was skimming through all the comments and misread that as River (like from Firefly). I was really confused for a minute.

You can't just write any two names down and have it work

As a crackshipper, I beg to differ. I have a long list of het pairings where any "evidence" would basically boil down to "write any two names down and see how it works". I've shipped characters who have never met. I've shipped characters who live and work in the same circle but are barely on each other's radars. I've shipped characters from different and not-overlapping timelines. I've shipped characters from completely different fandoms. And sometimes they don't work out and sometimes they turn into some of my favorite pairings.

My list of slash pairings, on the other hand, for the most part has a lot more subtext behind it. Admittedly often subtext that no one else sees.

Chemistry is subjective. What works for one fan will be the next fan's crack. YMMV. And so on.

170. Unless you write them so OOC that you might as well be writing original fiction.
