121. If you think American humor is mostly slapstick then you need to get out more. Or at least to more comedy clubs. We have every source of humor here because we have every sort of immigrant. Not only did they bring their clothing, food and languages here, they also brought their senses of humor.

What is funny in Minnesota isn't always funny in New York. What's funny in New York will get you a punched in the face in Alabama. And what's funny in Alabama will get a "tsk" and an eye roll in California.

With that said, I love those shows too.

157. I prefer the English dub too. The Japanese dub...everyone sounds like Keanu Reeves on a Valium bender whenever they speak English. It's great for laughs. Not for if you want to take the show seriously.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I didn't actually watch the Japanese version, just saw the songs on youtube and that was more than enough to convince me that I didn't need to see it in its "purest" form.

Why is it that English dub actors get raged at if they don't perfectly inflect a Japanese name, but Japanese VAs can mangle English beyond recognition and it's made of awesome? Damn double standards of fantards.

I always thought that while the UK can make better comedy shows, America has the better stand-up comedy.

Well, thing is, humor is subjective. So, I can't really say that the US has better stand-up comedy than the UK. However, it does have a greater range of humor.

Sure, if you like "men are like this, women are like this" or "white people are like this, black people are like this".

If you think that's all to American stand-up and British comedians are somehow exempt from this... LOL, okay.
