I can't say for sure, because he's probably in multiple historical fictions, but I assumed this book (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Place-Greater-Safety-Hilary-Mantel/dp/0140171037/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1234054074&sr=8-2). Not that I knew there was a fandom!

Seconded. Perhaps I'm too Rose of Versailles-biased, but Robespierre and Saint-Just were quite a big thing in my fandom :-D (this said, RoV has a pseudo-Desmoulins character, but oddly not the real thing, so yeah, my perspective is warped.)

Sorry, I was a bit suprised to see someone saying "I can't stand him" "They are awesome" like they were anime characters. (I have only seen a movie about Camille Desmoulins and the period of the Terror in history class back in highschool (I'm french), and I just can't imagine it as a fandom XD)

I understand that, I find it weird when people seem to think of them as characters over actually being real people.

I do mean the historical fandom, but I do think of them as actual people. I'm using more fandom-based language than I should be to refer to them, but I don't know how else to put it. Also, is the word "character" that people are objecting to? Let me clarify: "Character" is a way I've heard everyone from class clowns to people on the stage of history referred to as. Therefore, I was using it in its "broader word than person" sense, and not as a character in a book/movie/tv-show/graphic-novel/etc.
Now, in terms of the historical fandom, if Marx/Engels has a fandom - mind you, my mind was scarred when I first was linked to this, but if you like, there are several other historical fandoms as well - then the French Revolution can have one, too. XD
I apologize that I wasn't clear enough, but either way, the sentiment remains: I truly think Camille Desmoulins was a selfish, thoughtless, childish prick, who was still acting in ways that are forgiven when one is a teenager but less so when one is 34.
In all fairness, he probably would have been better off - and his behavior would have been much cuter - if he had had more of a backbone, had not published Le Vieux Cordelier 3 and 4, had not written number 7, or just had not been friends with both Robespierre and Danton during the winter of an II. Then, and only then, would his behavior have been cute. On the other hand, I still think he and Lucille were adorable, if somewhat over-the-top saccharine sweet to each other.
