123. I'm sure it's true. And I'm sure it's a lot of hyped up movie fans who don't realize how much of a dick he is in the books. I always thought Cap was too good for him.

153. I think (most of the) people who think that sucked do so because they wanted to see the book and don't realize that the story has always changed to fit the medium: whether it be book, radio show, or film.

Actually, a decent number of people on the comm are comics-verse fans. It's why a lot of us ship the Steve/Tony pairing - because they're slashy as all get out during recent(ish) comics canon.

We also *don't* think Tony's a dick in the books (not, not even in Civil War, which most of us have read, thank you, since that storyline is the reason half of us started shipping the pairing). You may not like him in 616 canon, but we do.

Yes, but you'll note I specified members who had joined <i>since May</i>, meaning that I feel that the IM movie was the primary impetus for them joining. Also, you can think someone is a dick (or at least acts like one at times), and still like them. Plus, it <i><is</i> in Cap's nature to see the good in everyone. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the pairing. Far from it, in fact. IMHO, the overall quality of the fic and art coming out of that comm has decreased significantly. A good deal of quality stuff is still being produced, yes. But I feel it's buried under a whole lot more dreck than there used to be.
