117. Kerry/Edwards! Yes! I sometimes forget about them, but yes, I was active in political fandom four years ago. I shipped them so hard. But the fandom died when they lost, because it hurt so fucking much. And now, well, they've both moved on to other things.

(I saw Edwards/Obama stuff back during the veep selection, and it was hawt.)

135. FUCKING AMEN. Racism hurts fandom as a whole, as well as, you know, the actual individual people who leave when fans are racist assholes to them. Better to own up to our shit and stop doing it, and keep some fucking cool fans around.

144. I agree with you, the presidency is very serious. I actually found it easier to ship wildly before the election, when it was all only a possibility. On the other hand, political fandom kept me sane for quite a while back then, and I still don't feel like leaving. It's an escape valve for me when srs bsns politics starts feeling too serious and I need cheering up. (I may wander away as the novelty wears off and I stop being stunned every few days that we actually elected the man. IDK.)

153. HHGTTG secret! I've actually only read the books, not seen the radio versions, but I loved that movie. Even if Marvin the Paranoid Android was probably supposed to not be cute. Still, it was AWESOME.
