Which character developments are we talking about here? Because I wasn't entirely pleased with "Memoriam," and I know some other people who weren't, either, if that's what you mean.

IA. Memoriam had a lot of potential to be interesting and such, but it kind of fell flat for me.

I feel like it was really well done in some ways but over all...it just made me roll my eyes and go, "We're doing MORE Reid-trauma? Really?"

Yeah. It was a good episode in general terms, but Reid tends to get a lot of attention...we need some Prentiss development. Or more Hotch backstory (I've always wondered about his childhood since "Natural Born Killer") or something.

Dude, you read my mind, seriously. Reid's had, like, six episodes that deal with his backstory, and everyone has had one, if that. I love him, but I love the other characters too!

From what I've heard though (I try to avoid spoilers), we might be getting some Prentiss and Hotch backstory soon? Or something.

Reid is my favourite character, but I love all of the characters so very much that I think it's sad when he gets all the attention.

Ooh goody!! That would be freaking awesome! I have a few theory about Hotch's backstory, but it'd be cool to see an episode dealing with it.

Seriously! CM has one of the best casts I've ever seen on a tv show and it's sad that they let some really amazing characters go under used and under appreciated. Especially since I've been dying for a Hotch backstory episode since "Natural Born Killer," which was, what, 70 episodes ago?

And, it's true. CM is one of the few shows out there where I like every one of the characters, and I want to know more about each and every one of them. And, yeah, NBK was...season 1, I think.

are you also an Elle fan? Because speaking of characters who are under appreciated... ;D

Mostly shows have at least one character I can't stand, or who just can't keep up with the awesomeness of the others but...yeah, not Criminal Minds =D And I want to know what's up with Hotch's parents, darn it! Not to mention, Prentiss has obviously got some sort of drama in her past.

God, yes, I loved Elle! I miss her so!

Yeah, usually there's one or two characters who get on my nerves, but CM has the balance and great writing and great acting and all that. I made a video sort of exploring Hotch during Natural Born Killer, and I've debated writing fic about his past, but I'd rather it be addressed on the show.

Sorry, but I totally need to hug you now *HUGS* I just get so excited when I meet another Elle lover, since fandom seems to have forgotten all about her =(

*hugs* *needs more CM icons...* I loved Elle and I was kinda pissed when she left, I shall never forget her! ~~I wish she could have stayed so she and Prentiss could've had awesome femmeslashy undertones~~ *cough*...

Sometimes I feel a bit guilty about liking Prentiss as much as I do, since she took Elle's place. But it's not like they got rid of her for Prentiss, so I guess it's okay. I'll never forget her either! I'm actually working on an Elle backstory fic, if I can ever get it done...

I like the way that CM brings in new characters because it keeps me from feeling guilty. Prentiss and Rossi are so different from Elle and Gideon, their own characters and all that, that I don't mind liking all of them a lot (though I think I like Rossi slightly more than Gideon for some reason).

CM does such a great job with characterizations. I think I might like Rossi a bit more than Gideon, as well. Gideon, well, he could be a jerk sometimes...and crazier than the unsubs. Which made him interesting, but also, you know, jerky and crazy XD

~~I would definitely read it. Mmmm. Especially since Prentiss/JJ is just about the only femslash you ever see in this fandom. A little variation would be nice~~

I've always thought that Gideon and Rossi would secretly hate each other. They would completely respect each other, and they'd be civil about it, but when no one was around they'd be like "Grr, can't stand that bastard." XD or maybe that's just me...?

I'm not a huge fan of Prentiss/JJ in general, it's just not my cup of tea. I like Will all right, though I feel like the writers didn't really introduce him as well as he could have. His first few episodes strike me as kind of...awkward.

I agree that Will's first few eps were a bit awkward, but he's got this...chivalrous quality mingled with a laid back personality. I love it.

A couple of things actually. The Reid Trauma for one. I mean seriously! As someone who has had a very screwed up life at some point it just gets to be ridiculous! There are other characters who need their back-story told! The only ones we've gotten it are Reid and Morgan with a hint of Garcia. I know that Reid has the most fans, and I am one of them, but come on! The whole show has a great cast of characters!

The other thing is his whole attitude after he successfully hit on the bartender in 52 Pick Up. He's just seemed cocky/very OTC to me. I don't like it. Don't get me wrong, I want Reid to grow, get the girl, etc. But if getting the girl is going to turn him into an asshole then he can die a virgin for all I care.

On the first point: I agree entirely, and I know a lot of people who do. On the second point: I honestly just had a conversation about this with someone. So yeah, there's some fanatic devotion to Reid in the CM fandom, but you're not alone.
