Not likely imo. China are more than capable of hypocrisy on this front. They made Wei Ying some sort of figurehead for their national museum or similar while at the same time WY's creator is rumoured to have been jailed.

If the Uighurs are anything to go by, I would expect their next step to be a national roll out of centres for the 'reeducation' of everyone who they don't approve of, including LGBTQ+ people. :(

They may not need new "reeducation" centers, they can just reuse the existing ones when most of the Uighurs have died in them.
