Re: How's it going, FS?

Felt generally crappy yesterday and only managed to leave the house in the evening. I'm assuming my hormones are fucking with my brain again, so probably have a period coming up, yay.

I'm also worried because my chest pain that my doc refused to run tests for --"change your purse, exercise more, eat less" is back, so that's fun. I know I'm an anxious mess, but if I'm at high risk for heart trouble and strokes because of my weight, blood-pressure, and bloodwork, I would like not to die because I refuse to starve myself and become a weight lifter or whatever.

Especially because one of the reasons he gave for not running tests is that I'm a long term vegetarian nonsmoker who walks 7 miles a day. But I'm fat so no tests unless I go to the ER.

The only time I ended up there for myself as an adult I'd come in with my dying mom, and late that night my vision tunneled, I started pouring sweat, had sharp chest pains, and collapsed at the nurses' station when my blood pressure dropped like a rock--someone got the cuff on me when they realized I'd left a puddle of sweat on the counter and I was sort of conscious when they took me back down to the ER. Tests came back negative. Whatever this is, it's not the same I don't think, because I'm not sweaty or collapsing all the time.

Didn't get my miles in but I did make a start on cleaning gross ex-produce out of the fridge and at least the compost pile is well-fed now, plus I got some groceries and lugged my clothes to the laundromat. Then I hung out with the kitten my roommate keeps saying she's going to rehome but it's been two weeks.

Roommate is out of town visiting friends. On the one hand, I wish I had some, and on the other hand I feel like I don't have enough time to be a good friend, because executive dysfunction eats up so much of my time.

Just woke up after staying up until 2 am reading Six of Crows--everyone's right, it's much better than Shadow and Bone. I need to not start books at 8 pm, even if I have the next day off. Still not interested in the show, though.

I saw that the FS post was up last night/this morning but was exhausted so just conked out.

I hope I get more done today, but I'm gonna need a nap to make up for staying up so late. I wish I was one of those lucky people who only need 4 hours of sleep to be healthy and alert, but not as much as I wish my executive function actually functioned.

Re: Six of Crows - Glad you like it! Having read the rest of the Grishaverse books (King of Scars and Rule of Wolves) I still think Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom are the best, though KoS and RoW are better than the Shadow and Bone books. And I enjoyed watching the show for the brief glimpse of the Crows crew, but it made me a little sad that not everything was about them. Excellent casting though, especially for Kaz.
