What gets me is that I was too tired of all the rampant pro-environmentalism "if you don't start recycling the world is gonna fucking die you bastard" the media had been shoving down my throat of late. (The day the earth stood still, Nearly EVERY Ghibli film, The Day after Tomorrow etc) I saw Wall-E not knowing what was supposed to be going on in the film but when the environmentalism bit came in I groaned.

Well, I can understand that (I mean, I'm very pro-environmentalism myself but man, if I have to see one more cheesy doomsday movie). But I mean, the "saving the environment" theme was probably the biggest point of the film. You don't have to like it but if you're going to go to a forum and post about the movie you'd think it'd be respected a little y'know?

I mean, to voice your opinion is one thing but from the OP's reaction it seems to be the only one that's all. :)

XDD Well I for one expected the movie to be environmentalist, but thought it failed big time. How did they save anything? They destroyed the environment, then Wall.E piled up all the rubbish, then they returned to live between huuuge skycrapers made of waste and we're supposed to believe that all is better? Lololol, that was a huge fail/denial to me.

I don't know, I thought the movie did a good job of it. The whole message in the middle with the captain watering the plant and saying it just needed a little TLC, and then looking at the pictures of the destroyed earth and saying they needed to return? Also, if you stayed for the credits, it shows plants growing again, people rebuilding, a river (if I remember correctly), and Wall-E and Eve just enjoying the blooming scenery.
