AYRT - No argument from me, it bothers me how indestructible Iron Man is, too. I mean, at least with him there's this paper-thin excuse of, like, somehow the suit is just impossibly shock absorbent! Tony Stark is a genius at mechanical engineering (and basically all sciences, lol) and he has basically unlimited funds to throw at his projects, and he built the suit to be just that good, yada yada yada. Not a good explanation by any means. Not actually remotely plausible. But you can reach for it to paper over those pesky that-should've-killed-him plotholes. And probably ditto with Batman. Still, I don't disagree with you that they should, by all rights, be in the same boat as the non-enhanced characters re: dying immediately of bodily trauma.

I actually like the MCU movies a lot, for the most part. But wow they are a constant challenge for my suspension-of-disbelief.
