Good News thread

Anyone else have some good news they'd like to share?

I got a job! It is still a contract lawyer position, meaning I'll be paid $22 per. But it is full time and with good benefits including vision and dental. And I like the firm a lot and it will give me great opportunities to do a lot of different things and gain experience and learn.

I successfully defended my MA essay* recently! I have a loose end or two to clear up and the paperwork/official graduation aren't gonna be finalized till August but I'm now informally a master of arts in history. Congrats on the job!

*Essay (of 58 pages) rather than thesis because I'm going on to the doctorate and chose the more course-credit heavy plan of work

Awesome, congrats! I just got my own raise effective today, but I still don't have benefits, so that bit is especially nice. ;)

Hmm, my own good news... after nothing in the mail but bills for month, I got at least one delivery each day this week. Some of it was just groceries, but others were things I ordered awhile back and just took awhile to ship. Still nothing exciting (like today it was a set of bedsheets so I wouldn't have only a single set that actually fit my waterbed that aren't 35 years old) but it's still nice to have packages show up at the door.

Also my bunny who was sick is back to her usual adorable bratty self and I love it. :D

Thanks. And I'm happy you got some nice deliveries. And especially thrilled that your bunny is back to her usual self. She sounds precious. My kitty, too, is sassy and I can tell when she's sick because she's not being sassy and loud.

I patted three dogs yesterday - one cute spaniel puppy, and two absolutely beautiful Australian Shepherds. The Shepherds were an adult and a puppy, and they were fluffy and friendly and licky, and the baby was SO SOFT. Every time I tried to stop patting the adult to pat the puppy, the adult would basically shove the puppy aside and stick its head under my hand, which was both hilarious and very mildly annoying (because darn it, let me pat the puppy!)

Only 5 secrets today, but this entry generated over 250 comments so far. True, most of the comments were for one secret in particular, but that's still great.
