I do t know at what point this scene is supposed to take place, but although iirc Anne was already pregnant when they got married, Henry wanted any kid (son, he hoped) that he got on her to be legitimate. So it's possible that he could have been cautious so as not to accidentally produce another illegitimate kid at a time when he wouldn't have had a reasonable expectation of marrying her fast enough to have any offspring gotten that day born in wedlock

+1, he already had an illegitimate son (Henry Fitzroy) and a legitimate daughter (Mary). He needed a legitimate son.
