Had my first day at my new job today. Went really well. Really excited about this job.

Also, I found out one of the firms I applied to months ago is actually known around here for being sketchy, so I'm glad that I didn't get that job.

So I'm exhausted now, but in a good way. My cat is being very clingy now because she's not used to having me here all day.

My boss wasn't at work today so it was a bit more relaxing. Especially since we didn't have to do all our meetings.

Slept two hours, lay awake in pain for four more before giving up and logging into work for a ten hour shift. Have two more ten hour shifts the next two days or my paycheck will be short (no paid holiday + place is closed Fridays in summer = cram all 29 hours of my week into three days).

I feel like death. But as soon as I clocked out at 5 I sprayed myself down with deet and ran over to take a walk in the park anyway because darnit I can't just lie in bed all the time... and I got there just in time to see a mama deer with two spotty fawns hanging around and grazing by the BMX course. No other humans are dumb enough to be out in 89 degree sunny oppressive heat, just me, so I guess they decided it was safe to come that far out in broad daylight.

Good! I'm ahead of my Camp NaNo goal and feeling good about my writing for the first time since the panini started.

Super slow day at work, but now I'm home and making s'mores.

I called out sick today due to cramps and general exhaustion but I was able to get a bunch of fiddly little household tasks done so it was pretty good.

Next day and am wondering will I ever stop failing at work.

I did feel a little better last night gaming and doing fanworks though.
