As others have mentioned, I think some phrasing should get the benefit of the doubt and be interpreted as a compliment rather than some sort of defensiveness. Other phrasing really does deserve a "write your own then" or a "why did you read this clearly tagged fic then" response.

That said, omegaverse stuff is currently dominating my fandom, and if I want any poem at all, I have to read it. That doesn't mean I like it because I fucking hate that genre. We don't always have much of a choice in what to read but we do always have a choice in how or whether to comment.
