I was never able to get into the Bleach shipping fandom back during the Hueco Mundo arc days. I'd occasionally dip my feet in and then retreat because it felt completely different to any other fandom space I'd ever been in.

Hearing that it hasn't changed in all these years is surprising but also unsurprising considering the foundations it started with.

It's definitely gotten better! A lot of my reactions are knee-jerk and based on the older parts of the fandom. There's still some bs, but it gets a lot of pushback within shipping circles. That's probably why the dudebros are more of the concern overall with a lot of people.
