Eh, NAYRT but all of those things can also easily be read as a tone of, "But they were just roommaaaaaates." so I can see why some people get bristly about it.

There's always people who are so quick to brush off, "They can't be dating they're just friends." A LOT of the time and it can get irritating.

I absolutely see your point.

But, conversely, if someone said I was only nice to a girl (or a boy) because I wanted to get inside their pants, I'd be pretty bristly too.

So? He's putting a lot of work embodying Sam. The nuance, the body-language, the micro-expressions. Who wouldn't feel attached? It's not like the guy hasn't played gay characters before.

Who enjoys seeing their acting choices persistently misread?

I mean, you can ignore the person saying that and ship whoever you want or you can let them ruin your fun, but either way, it's not homophobic to not ship Sam and Bucky.
