Can someone explain to me why people like it? The music was terrible, the actors couldn't sing (Except Tony Head, but the music was so poorly written that it didn't mater), and the acting was awful. Did I mention the music was terrible? Seriously, opera is all about music. We only watched as long as we did because we kept waiting for it to get better, since so many people here loved it, but it was just so unbearable that we eventually gave up.
So, fans of Repo? I'm... extremely confused as to what you see in it. I mean, obviously a bunch of people like it, so there must be something good about it, but none of the four of us could figure out what. ...Help? D:

I like it because to me it's a fantastic joke played on Paris Hilton and Sarah Brightman, both of whom I dislike, and both of whom end badly. Really badly. Spectaularly, hilariously badly. It was delicious in a rather shallow, petty way to see that.
I was a little irritated with the total lack of a real ending for most of the characters who actually lived through it, but aside from that, I actually did like most of the music. I dare say that's just a matter of taste and if you don't like it, you don't like it. I wouldn't say the music is bad by Broadway standards, though. Man, if you want to see something that is truly, horrendously awful on levels no batfuckery like this can begin to compete with, look up Stephen Sondheim's Bounce! I don't know what he was smoking when he decided it was a good idea to make a musical about dysfunctional closeted homosexual real estate agents in Boca Raton, but he needs to put that shit down and take out a hit on his dealer. The musical was pretty much laughed out of theatres before it even finished its pre-Broadway run. I had the misfortune of having seen it when it came through DC.
Anyway, I thought Repo was a lot of fun, and it was... pretty. It had a good aesthetic. I like looking at pretty things. ^_^

Rotti Largo's songs are immensely fun to sing, too.
Then again... I didn't care enough to actually get involved in 'fandom', so maybe I haven't picked out the Magic Thing that made it ZOMG BESTEST instead of a sub-par but not unpalatable crack-opera.
