Not in Avatar fandom, but as some one whose ship fandom used to get accused of that all the time in another fandom, when most of us just liked the character interaction and ship potential, yeah, kinda douchy thing to say.

But I also know that a LOT of casual fans very EXPLICITLY (as in, they actually say as much in their notes on the art) draw this particular pairing because they think it's pretty. And over the years that admittedly can get a little frustrating, especially when combined with the fact that non-Zuko/Katara art is often riddled with comments bashing the ship you've chosen to draw and begging you draw Zutara for them instead.
