(Anonymous) 2009-02-15 12:24 am (UTC)(link)1) The fact that there are kids at the ball sort of defeats one of Miss Bingley's protests about Lydia being too young to be allowed in.
2) It just doesn't seem to be set in the right time period. I mean, are the costumes from the right era at all?
3) The way they flirt is far more modern than would have accepted at the time.
That's all I can think of for the time being (I'd have to watch it again to rediscover more, and I would rather put my head in a blender.)

The costumes are the least of the offenses- I've seen much worse. The hairstyles were atrocious, though. The phrase "loose woman" originated from women who didn't keep their hair neatly and tightly pulled back. Way to call Lizzie a slut, guys. :P
