113.) Your fun little checklist? WELCOME TO THE TWILIGHT FANDOM. Egads, what ELSE can you expect? The majority of the Twilight fans I've met are rabids who think that anyone who speaks against Her Majesty on High Mistress Meyer even the tiniest bit should be flogged to death.

144.) I dunno WHY people make out Batman fans to be assholes and elitists. I still consider myself a comic newbie (been reading them since just last summer), and I've asked my share of stupid questions, and... I'm still here. Batman fans only seem to get jerky when people start acting like total morons (a la the obnoxious Joker fangirls who think he's "so so cute" and "just needs a hug"; stuff like that). BUT, glad it's better for you. 8D

149.) I feel like I missed out SO much on that. I only got into the whole fandom thing when I was about 14, and by then it was still going, but winding down. And now everything is just... gone. D8 I miss bagginses.net the most- ROAST, YOU MISERABLE MARSHMALLOW!

113.) I enjoy the Twilight books (except for the last one, lol) and I cannot stand Stephenie Meyer. As far as I'm concerned, she wrote an enjoyable story which will never be considered "great" writing in the literary world, but she's gotten way out of control with her God complex. But that's just my opinion.

So don't worry. Not all Twilight fans are OMG!crazy and rabid. :)

149.) Me too... I only really got into LOTR when I was 13/14 and by the time I was done with high school, it seemed like the fandom was done. Maybe when/if "The Hobbit" comes out there will be a revival?

Seriously, a lot of us are sane and can enjoy the series for what it is, while hating Stephenie Meyer for how badly she wrote it.

Yeah, that tends to be my experience, but perhaps that's because all of my friends who also enjoy the series are a little bit older... The early teen crowd in particular seems to be the most rabid. (Not that they all are... They just seem to be infinitely more squeal-y when it comes to things.) lol

I went to Robert's SF event (we thought it'd be fun to get him to sign the poster to _twatlight), and we were among some of the older people there. I swear I wanted to leave the fandom then and there after the mob. Girls were threatening my friends and I, and just being nasty people. It was the most disappointing fandom event I've been to ever. That's why I like to hang out with people who enjoy the series but also enjoy poking fun at it.

Ugh, that's awful.

The only specific "Twilight" event I went to was the Breaking Dawn release and I have to say, it wasn't that bad. There wasn't a party or anything, just a bunch of fans waiting in line. Everyone was well-behaved though (mostly college-age) and in good spirits. The only time anyone got snippy with anybody else was because the bookstore was right next to a bar and people kept asking if the next Harry Potter book was coming out. Ha ha. (I wish it had been another HP though, rather than Broken Down...I mean, Breaking Dawn. :P)

But some fans do have a tendency to take things too seriously... Robert Pattinson is one of them! (Poor guy.)
