Hayden Christiansen was good in Life As a House and Shattered Glass, but none of the performances in the prequels was anything I would call good, they all ranged from atrocious to okay. I do blame the script, the direction, and some of the technical aspects for this because most of the main actors have given great performances in other works (I'm not actually sure about Ahmed Best, I don't think I've seen him in anything else, but I don't blame him for JarJar, I think he was probably doing the best he could with what he was given). I think there was just too much working against the actors. However, even if they had been better movies, if they had still had all the same plot points, I would've been disappointed - George Lucas threw away parts of the mythology built in the original trilogy.
