117. My Christian father looked at me like I'd grown a second head when I told him I liked Dogma. :/ It was one of the first times that I really vocally disagreed with him.

119. EVERY TIME I SEE MENTIONS OF THE DARK TOWER, I THINK YOU MEAN THE SEVENTH TOWER. Those old Garth Nix books. I loved them so hard when I was younger. ...I just felt the need to add 'secret because nobody read it and The Dark Tower is actually good' but then I realized I was commenting signed in. Whoops.

156. See, I can't reread that fic and enjoy it the same way either. I read it when I was bored and eating lunch in the dining hall. And I must have been smiling or something because I caught this one guy staring at me. :( Now I just go all blushy and awkward when I think about that fic.

NEITHER DO I. I just know that I got this look from him like 'but I thought you were SMART' and it made me unhappy. :(( It's kind of ruined my happy memory of the movie.

But! But! It's the friggin' Golgotha! It's a monster made of the refuse that ran on the spot where Jesus was crucified. How could you miss the significance of that? Yes, it's one big living shit joke, but it's a poignant shit joke! The fact that that should not be possible just makes it that much better.

I saw Dogma more as making fun of the Catholic church. As a Christian, I actually thought the movie made a couple of very good points about Christianity--particularly the factioning of all the religions, how there should just be one.
