Putting it Together is one of my go-to, feel-good DVDs. I don't know much of Ruthie on her own, but I ADORE her in combination with John. They play so well together. "Unworthy of your love" is one of my absolute favorite songs of his. It's so damn intense.

And there's the little fact that whoever picked the costumes picked really well for John. Those pants that he wears ... I want to climb on the stage. (But I wouldn't, because that would ruin the show, and it's such a great show).

I should pull that out, I haven't watched it for a while.

I LOVE Ruthie. I actually knew her before I really knew John. My friend was trying to get me to watch Torchwood and she was like "You know who John Barrowman is?" And I was like "...he's that guy who does all that stuff with Ruthie Henshall!" I actually discovered her through her husband, Tim Howar, whom I saw in Rent, and is the sweetest man in the world. I always joke that John has kissed me on the cheek through degrees of separation because Tim has kissed me on the cheek (well, me and like a hundred other Rent fans).

Their version of Unworthy of Your Love is my top most scrobbled Sondheim song according to last.fm. By a lot. Mostly, the Assassins version is so damn creepy, but in Putting it Together, it's dark and intense, but it's not... stalkerish.

I actually just saw a show at the theatre where Putting it Together played and I dorked out over it. "John and Ruthie were here! ...Ten years ago."

Unworthy of Your Love is brilliant, and I think its' second only to "Sunset Boulevard" on my John playlist. I LOVE that rendition of it. I can't get enough.

Oh, trust me, I geeked out over the fact that I just saw Oliver! (With Burn Gorman!) at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, where John performed Anything Goes a few years ago. Luckily, I was with people doing the same thing!

I think we have the exact same taste in John because Sunset Boulevard is my top scrobbled John song. By an even larger margin. I have three different recordings of him singing it, and I can't get enough of them. I listen to them CONSTANTLY.

THREE? I only have ONE!

(When I first discovered that John could sing, I listened to Sunset for about three days straight on repeat. Barely stopped to attend classes. I LOVE that song SO MUCH. )
