ROFL. Something tells me you're just a little bitter that you're not as good at cosplaying (whether that is just being artistic, or sewing, or whatever) as you want to be. Maybe you just don't have the guts to cosplay? Or you're too shy?

Let me tell you something. Everyone in my cosplay group has graduated from college and most of our group makes around 60k a year (we're all only in our mid-20s so you know, that number will only go up from there).

To address the picture in your secret, that gal is cosplaying a videogame character. All but two of our cosplay group works in the videogame industry, and even the other two (I am one of those) have done work in that industry at one time or another.

I don't know which part of the industry you're in (anime or video game), but you must be working with a bunch of assholes because most the people I know in the game industry think cosplay is pretty cool.

Of course, like you, we put our money toward our education before we did much hard core cosplay, (and I commend you for doing that because that takes a lot of dedication, good for you ^_^) but now we have money and we like to spend our time doing something fun and creative.

Unlike you, we're not condescending and judgemental, and we have lots of fun using our hard earned money (from, you know, our careers... you know the jobs we got with our education) and traveling out of state going to other cons, cosplaying, and seeing new places.

I love my friends. I love cosplaying. And nothing you say is going to change that. I just think it's sad that you feel the way you do.

You sound really, really defensive. I mean, several of the people responding to that secret sound defensive, but you're actually... defending yourself. Do you believe the secret maker was specifically talking about you? Seriously curious here.

*laughs* Not at all. Mostly I just wanted to make a specific point (that being that not everyone who cosplays has a low paying job or is uneducated). I didn't realize I sounded like I was trying to defend myself XD I am pretty long winded though...

Well, the whole 60k a year, etc. stuff sounds like you're justifying your hobby, which I think isn't necessary. I don't think anyone needs to justify their hobby. The secret sounds like it's addressing specific people that the secret maker is friends with. I don't get the impression they're talking about everyone who cosplays at all. Otherwise they probably wouldn't have said "you're all incredibly talented" because... well, not everyone who cosplays is incredibly talented. YMMV but that's how I read it.

*nods* perhaps I was being more snarky than I should have been, and a snarky secret doesn't necessarly deserve a snarky reply, but such is life. I'm sure the OP could have worded the secret differently to sound more mature, but they didn't (for all I know the OP could be a troll).

I personally don't feel like I sounded like I was justifying myself and my hobby, but everyone sees/reads/perceives things differently. Not only are you going to see what I said differently than I do, but we have different opinions on how the OP meant what they said, so... *shrugs* :)

Out of everyone who commented on this secret, you are definitely the most level headed. People got way too defensive way too fast. (I'm not the OP, I was just curious how people would react to what was said, so that's all I was reading...)
